RealTermo is a specialized engineering firm for thermal measurements of historic buildings.

Our company's purpose is:

Development, application and documentation of measurement systems for thermal building dynamics, including data collection, data processing, scientific evaluation and preparation of technical reports.


Structure

1.) Who we are

We create controlled, real-world operating conditions in vacant existing buildings and measure how the building physically reacts.

Our focus is not on standards, assumptions or model calculations, but on real measurement data that reveal the actual behavior of a building.

We work independently, based on data and scientifically — without any economic interests in planning, renovation or energy consulting.


2.) How we work

We install precise measuring sensors, generate defined thermal impulses, and record the building's reaction over several days.

The data is then technically cleaned, structured, and presented in clear reaction patterns.

An external building physicist physically evaluates and classifies these patterns.

This results in a process that is neutral, transparent and institutionally compatible:

Realistic measurements → realistic understanding → realistic decision-making.


3.) Responsibility & Limits

RealThermo takes responsibility for:

  • the correct installation of the measuring instruments
  • the technically sound recording of temperature and heating data
  • the complete processing of the measurement series
  • the mathematical derivation of characteristic values (rise rates, cooling rates, reaction times)
  • the graphical representation of the thermal reaction patterns
  • transparent documentation of all measurement conditions

RealThermo does not evaluate any structural measures and does not make any recommendations.

  • energy assessment
  • Renovation recommendation
  • Heating load calculation
  • GEG rating
  • Economic analysis
  • Planning or design of systems
  • Building physics consultation

4.) Why this distinction is important

The clear separation between measurement, data processing, and building physics interpretation protects the scientific quality of the method. RealThermo remains a neutral measurement body, free from economic interests and without planning responsibility. At the same time, the external building physics assessment ensures that the results are classified correctly from a physical perspective. This results in a process that remains objective, transparent, and institutionally compatible—without any blurring of roles, opinions, or responsibilities.

2. Data Collection & Monitoring

The measurement series are continuously monitored, checked for stability and technically validated to ensure a clean data basis.

The raw data is cleaned, synchronized, and converted into a physically correct structure to enable a scientifically sound evaluation.

4. Physical Assessment & Report Preparation

The thermal dynamics of the building are scientifically analyzed and documented in a structured report.

The interpretation of the measured data is carried out by an external and independent building physicist who evaluates only the physical reaction patterns of the building – without recommendations, without measures and without planning.

The result is a reproducible and scientifically sound basis for decision-making for owners, planners, architects and public authorities.
